Truehope Nutritional Support Ltd. is dedicated to promoting mental wellness through non-invasive, nutritional means. Founded in 1996 by Tony Stephan and David Hardy, the company has developed and currently produces the nutritional supplement, EMPowerplus®, a specialized micronutrient supplement designed to address the unique nutritional deficiencies associated with mental illness. Truehope supports numerous independent research projects that explore the role of nutrition in mental wellness.

The Truehope Support Program goes hand-in-hand with our products. Support consists of a call center available free of charge, an online reporting system for users, and a well-established protocol that can be individualized by our trained, non-medical support staff who are familiar with the use of EMPowerplus® and the transition from psychotropic medications.

More doctors and health professionals than ever before are taking notice of EMPowerplus®. Many doctors across the U.S. and Canada are currently using EMPowerplus® in their clinical practice as a treatment option for bipolar disorder, depression, ADD, and several other mental disorders.

For over ten years Truehope has worked with addiction recovery indirectly as we help our participants transition from medications, alcohol, and street drugs that have the potential to form dependency. There is growing evidence that nutritional deficiencies may also play a significant role in the mechanisms that lead to addiction. At Truehope Nutritional Support Ltd., we have many inquiries from health professionals about EMPowerplus, the Truehope support program, and our research projects. We welcome the involvement of all medical practitioners who want to help their patients achieve and maintain mental and emotional health.

Joan Mathew Larson

Joan Mathews-Larson holds a doctorate in nutrition and is the founder and executive director of the pioneering Health Recovery Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, an orthomolecular (psycho-biological) model for treating addiction and emotional disorders. This unique focus combines therapy with physiological intervention to repair biochemical damage that often manifests as impaired mental functioning and behavioral problems. Her work has received national recognition because of the high recovery rates this model produces.

The loss of her seventeen-year old son to suicide directly after he completed a treatment program fueled Dr. Larson’s on-going search for more effective solutions. Her clinic has now successfully treated many thousands of people over three decades. Her published research in the International Journal of Biosocial and Medical Research in 1987 and 1991 describes this work.

More doctors and health professionals than ever before are taking notice of EMPowerplus®. Many doctors across the U.S. and Canada are currently using EMPowerplus® in their clinical practice as a treatment option for bipolar disorder, depression, ADD, and several other mental disorders.

Dr. Larson’s national best-selling books Seven Weeks to Sobriety and Depression Free, Naturally (Random House) have led to over 500 TV and radio appearances.
